Support Visits
We can visit your home or business anywhere in the East Midlands - There may be a small surcharge to help with extra costs involved if you are a great distance from us. This helps us keep our costs low for other clients.
On our first visit if you are a new client, we would generally expect to perform some basic tasks.
This is so that we can leave your PC in the best condition we can.
( Update - with Windows 7 some of these tasks are not required as the operating system takes care of them now.)
Check what you use your PC for most so that we can optimise it's performance to your needs.
Find out if you have important data backed up, and if not arrange to do so.
Check the validity of your installation. - Unfortunately many people have bought PC's from less than reputable
dealers who have installed Copied software which does not have a valid Licence.
In the case of Microsoft Software -
this will cause the performance to degrade over time, prevent updates and ensure regular messages about your
unlicenced software. We can help solve these issues.
Check your Anti-Virus Software to ensure that it's up to date and working properly. - If it has run out, or you are using a free version with limited functions, we can install a full Internet Security Suite from AVG. The first month is FREE on a trial basis and if you are happy with it, we will update it to the full version for a further 12 months at less than the advertised retail prices. We try to save you money and hassle wherever possible. We can even do this remotely for you so there is no need for a further visit!
Install some FREE software to help us optimise and maintain your PC. -This software checks for spyware, clears files which are no longer needed such as temporary files and optimises your PC. We also install software to Defragment your hard drive so that it runs quicker and stores data more efficiently.
Install our remote access software if you request it, so that we can securely log in to your PC at a future time to assist you or backup and maintain your PC.
